So, I realized something in the past week that I cant believe I haven’t discovered before. Beef jerky is the perfect food for when you are getting ready to get your moonblood. (That’s ladytime in Game of Thrones speak) Now, my friends have coined this Cheeseburger Time as you can see in my amazing bff Kat’s blog. (who also suffers from PCOS as I do) So guys, this is what to do when your lady starts to get fussy. Make some nice meaty jerky for her to tear apart with her teeth. I feel great.
Serves – 2 cranky ladies over the course of a week.
Nutrition – Mentally, its perfection.
1 bottom roast sliced in to 1/4″ slices
6 scallions, thinly sliced in to rings
1 bottle Dale’s seasoning
4 oz water
1/4 cup brown sugar
2 tb worcestershire sauce
1/4 tsp cayenne
Place meat slices in to a giant ziplock. Heat all the ingredients in a pot until sugar is dissolved. Let cool and then pour in to bag. seal well and let refrigerate 24 hours.
Then place the strips in to a dehydrator and set at 165 degrees for 6 hours.
I do not have a photo of the completely dried out jerky, because I am an asshole and I was super busy and then super excited and ate it all over the course of a week somehow managing to never take a photo. But as someone who has tried all kinds of fancy organic jerkys, this was by far the best I have ever had, and I couldn’t wait to pass the recipe on to you. Its chewy but not too dry, slightly sweet with a beautiful punch of salty meaty flavor. I have fallen head over heels. And I don’t feel like yelling at anyone.
